~ Directed by Claudia McKelvey ~
Claudia McKelvey debuts with this play centring around a cut-throat poker set against the backdrop of a London restaurant. It is an enthralling, wisecracking close-up of the demons that drive compulsive gambers and an examination of fathers and sons. Marber also exposes deeper wounds between desperate would-be winners as they hurtle towards a dramatic unravelling that shows the real truth behind their entertaining journey. This play won both the Evening Standard Award for Best Comedy and The Writers' Guild award for Best West End Play.
